From visiting the Rhinog Nature Reserve, in the mountains near Harlech you’ll find this broad expanse of upland heath, particularly important for preserving the birdlife of the area. There is also the Italian style village of Port Merion a short distance from the park, which offers excellent scenery, restaurants and shopping facilities. Harlech and Criccieth Castle are also within close reach from the park, where you can learn more about Welsh history and how it has shaped Wales to be the country it is today.
